🎤Personal Journey & Pokémon Passion;

What first drew you into the Pokémon universe, and how did it become such a significant part of your life?

Elena Says: "Pokémon really is a combination of two things I’ve always loved… collecting and cute things! When I was younger, I just found myself emersed in the expansive world of Pokémon and all it had to offer! Naturally, as you grow older, it becomes less “cool” (not true by the way), but it always laid dormant in my mind. Over the past few years, it has grown back to be my biggest passion as I just see it as an escape, or place of comfort!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s answer beautifully captures what makes Pokémon so timeless — it’s not just a hobby, it’s a comforting space filled with nostalgia, creativity, and joy. Her love for collecting and all things cute is such a relatable gateway into the franchise, and the way she describes it “lying dormant” until rediscovering it later in life is something so many fans experience. It shows how Pokémon isn’t just for kids — it’s a lifelong passion that evolves with you, offering a safe, happy escape at any age."

Can you tell us about your journey as a content creator for Pokémon fans? What inspired you to start sharing your experiences?

Elena says: "My journey as a content creator only started a little under a year ago at this point. When I was younger, I had a fun little Minecraft YouTube channel, so I’ve always had a passion for content creation. As I came to the end of my A Levels last summer, I was eager to start this content creation journey primarily to build up my own community. I had such a big love for Pokémon cards, but no one to chat about it with, so I wanted to create an environment in which everyone can connect on something we love!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s story really highlights how content creation can be such a powerful way to build community around shared passions. It’s inspiring to see how she took something personal — her love for Pokémon cards — and turned it into a space for others to connect and feel part of something. Starting this journey just after finishing her A Levels also shows real drive and creativity. It’s not just about the content itself, but about creating a welcoming environment for others who might not have had anyone to share their interests with — and that’s what makes her presence in the community so special."

What are your earliest memories of Pokémon — did you start with the games, the cards, or attending shows?

Elena Says: "My earliest memories have to be of the original anime. My brother and I used to watch it together when we had our dinner, and the original movies just bring so much nostalgia. I used to open some cards when I was younger too, but unfortunately those are long gone. I also have fond memories of me watching my brother play Diamond & Pearl on his DS!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s answer paints such a warm and nostalgic picture — it’s clear that Pokémon has always been intertwined with meaningful moments in her life. Watching the anime with her brother and sharing those dinnertime episodes is something so many fans can relate to, and it really speaks to how Pokémon becomes part of your personal and family memories. Her mention of the original movies and classic DS games like Diamond & Pearl adds that extra nostalgic spark, reminding us how those early experiences leave a lasting impact — even if the original cards have vanished over the years!"

🌟Community Engagement;

Your Instagram and YouTube channels have garnered a great following. How do you engage with the Pokémon community, and what do you enjoy most about connecting with fellow fans?

Elena Says: "The engagement is truly the best part for me. It’s the whole reason why I wanted to start this channel! The comment section on my videos is always a thriving place, and I love to get DM’s from people about anything and everything! The thing I enjoy most is just this sense of happiness I get when I know that I hopefully make an impact on the wider Pokémon fanbase."

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s passion for community really shines through in this answer. It’s clear that for her, content creation isn’t just about views or followers — it’s about genuine connection. The way she talks about her comment sections “thriving” and receiving DMs shows how much she values interaction and conversation. That sense of joy she gets from making a positive impact on others in the Pokémon world is so heartwarming — it reflects the very best of what the community can be: supportive, joyful, and full of shared excitement."

What’s the most memorable interaction you’ve had with a fan or fellow content creator in the Pokémon world?

Elena Says: "This is a tricky one because I’ve had so many lovely people come up to me with such kind words and gifts. If I had to pick one, I think it would have to be my first ever interaction at my first Card Show. I only had 83 subscribers at the time, and this sweet couple drove past me just as I was heading back to my car and they stopped to say they were fans of my channel. I was in complete shock at the time, but I’m never going to forget it!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s story is such a wholesome reminder of how even the smallest milestones can feel monumental. That moment — being recognised by fans with just 83 subscribers — speaks volumes about the genuine connections she’s building through her content. It’s those unexpected, heartfelt encounters that really validate all the hard work and passion she’s poured into her channel. The fact that it’s still so vivid for her shows how meaningful and motivating those moments can be, especially early on in a creator’s journey. It’s a lovely example of how the Pokémon community lifts each other up."

Do you have any tips for others who want to get involved in the Pokémon content creator space?

Elena Says: "Don’t be afraid to be you! There is a growing number of Pokémon content creators out there right now, but there is always room for more, so never be afraid to start! Plus, don’t think you need lots of money as there are always fun video ideas to play around with rather than throwing all your money at pack openings!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s advice is spot on — authentic passion always shines through. Her encouragement to simply “be you” is such an important reminder in a space that can sometimes feel oversaturated. She highlights that there's always room for new voices and fresh perspectives in the Pokémon community, and that you don’t need a big budget to make engaging content. It’s all about creativity, relatability, and showing your genuine love for the hobby. Her message is both empowering and practical — perfect for anyone thinking of taking their first step into content creation."

🎮Pokémon Content Creation

You produce both Instagram posts and YouTube videos. How do you decide which content goes on each platform, and do you have a favourite format?

Elena Says: "I’ve always had a big passion for long-form content, so I would say the YouTube side is definitely my favourite. My ideology is that if I can make it into a full-length video, then I will, and then create a reel out of clips, if possible. However, sometimes that just isn’t possible, and so I will just dive straight into short-form."

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s approach shows a great balance of creativity and strategy. Her love for long-form content really reflects her dedication to storytelling and building deeper connections with her audience — which is what YouTube does best. At the same time, her flexibility in adapting content into reels or short-form when needed shows she understands how to make the most of each platform. It’s clear she puts thought into how her content is experienced, and that kind of versatility is what helps creators thrive across different formats."

How do you stay inspired and come up with fresh ideas for your Pokémon content?

Elena Says: "It can definitely be tricky to always come up with fresh ideas, but that’s half the fun for me! My main process is to think about videos that I would like to see, but aren’t out there anywhere else, like my Budget Buyer POVs! Alternatively, I just like to think about the sort of videos I already like to watch, then re-create it and put my own spin on it!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s take on creativity is both clever and refreshing. By focusing on content, she would want to watch, she keeps her ideas authentic and audience-focused — which is a smart way to stay inspired. Her “Budget Buyer POV” concept is a perfect example of originality meeting relatability, and it’s that kind of unique thinking that helps her stand out. The fact that she embraces the challenge of coming up with fresh ideas as part of the fun shows how much she truly enjoys the process, not just the outcome."

Is there a specific Pokémon or game you’re currently obsessed with that you’re excited to share with your followers?

Elena Says: "I am super, super excited for Pokémon Legends Z-A to release later this year. After having no Pokémon game last year, I think we are all very excited for this! Plus, I’ve always been a huge fan of Megas, so I can’t wait to see what new ones they add in. Also excited to potentially make some content around it on my channel!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s excitement for Pokémon Legends Z-A really captures the enthusiasm that many fans feel about new game releases. It’s great to see her looking forward to new content, especially with the potential addition of Mega Evolutions — a feature that holds a special place in the hearts of many Pokémon fans. The anticipation of something new in the franchise, especially after a year without a game release, brings fresh energy to the community, and it’s clear Elena is ready to channel that excitement into her own content. Her eagerness to create content around it shows just how passionate she is about sharing her love for the games with her followers!"

🎉Pokécon & Pokémon Events

You’re partnering with PokéCon for an upcoming event! What excites you most about being a part of this experience?

Elena Says: "Gosh there is too much to list! I am super exciting for this first partnership, and I want to thank the whole PokéCon team for being so welcoming! I think I am most excited to be able to peek behind the curtain for all the set-up behind such an amazing show! Being part of the creation of a fun, exciting event for lots to enjoy is an amazing opportunity!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s enthusiasm is contagious! Her excitement about being part of PokéCon, especially her curiosity about the behind-the-scenes setup, highlights her genuine interest in the event and its community-building aspect. It’s great to see how much she values the opportunity to contribute to the creation of something special for fans, not just as an attendee but as someone involved in the experience. Her appreciation for the PokéCon team’s welcoming attitude shows how much she values collaboration and the excitement of working with others to bring something amazing to life. This partnership is sure to be a fantastic one!"

What kind of Pokémon-related activities or panels would you love to see at a convention like PokéCon?

Elena Says: "Live box breaks are always fun to be able to get the community to get hyped altogether. Another fun idea I had was a King of the Castle-style Pack Battle, where 2 people face off, then whoever gets the best pull can stay for another round and battle the next opponent. Seems like a fun way to open packs as a community!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s suggestions are spot on for creating a fun and engaging atmosphere at PokéCon! Live box breaks are a great way to build excitement and get the community involved in real-time, and the idea of a King of the Castle-style pack battle is brilliant. It’s a creative twist on the traditional pack-opening experience, encouraging friendly competition and keeping everyone invested in the action. Her ideas really emphasize the community spirit of Pokémon events, and they’re sure to spark even more energy and excitement among attendees."

How do you think conventions like PokéCon help bring fans and content creators closer together?

Elena Says: "These places put everyone on the same level. It doesn’t matter if you are brand new to collecting, or you’re 10 years down the line with 10k followers, when you come to an event like PokéCon, we are all equals who are just excited to be in a room full of something that we love!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s answer beautifully captures the heart of what makes conventions like PokéCon so special. Her point about everyone being on the same level is a powerful reminder that at the core of it all, we’re just fans sharing a passion. Whether you're a seasoned collector or brand new to the hobby, PokéCon creates a space where titles and follower counts fade away — and what remains is community, excitement, and connection. It’s that sense of equality and shared joy that truly brings fans and creators closer together."

🔮Looking to the Future

What are your goals for your Pokémon content in the next year? Any big projects coming up?

Elena Says: "My simple goal is to just keep growing! I have already grown with my channel so much in under a year, so I can’t wait to see how much further I can take it! I have a lot more vending slots coming up too, including at PokéCon, so that is an exciting new world for me to dive into!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s outlook is both grounded and full of momentum. Her focus on steady growth shows she’s in it for the long haul, and it’s amazing to see how far she’s already come in such a short time. The excitement around her upcoming vending opportunities — especially at PokéCon — adds a new dimension to her journey, blending content creation with real-world experiences. It’s clear she’s embracing every new challenge and opportunity with genuine enthusiasm, and it’ll be exciting to watch her continue to grow and evolve within the community."

What’s something you hope to accomplish within the Pokémon community that you haven’t yet?

Elena Says: "It’s a big goal, and one to keep excited for in the future, but I’d love to host my own show one day! The whole purpose of my channel was to create a community, and so I’d love to be able to bring it to the real world one day, with my own fun additions too, of course!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s dream of hosting her own show is such a bold and inspiring goal — and one that feels totally within reach given her passion and dedication. Her desire to take the community she’s built online and bring it into the real world speaks volumes about the kind of creator she is: someone who values connection, creativity, and shared experiences. It’s exciting to imagine what a show shaped by her personality and vision could look like — no doubt it would be fun, welcoming, and full of that same spark she brings to all her content."

💫Fun Closer

Quickfire round: Favourite Pokémon game? Dream Pokémon encounter. Pokémon merch you can’t live without. Go!

Elena Says: "Maybe controversial, but my favourite game is actually Legends Arceus! Dream encounter has to be my boy Lapras (shiny if I’m being greedy). I simply cant live without my Sitting Cuties!"

The Trading Card Co Says: "Elena’s quickfire answers are full of charm and personality! Legends Arceus as a favourite is a bold pick — and honestly, a refreshing one that shows her appreciation for the franchise evolving in new directions. A shiny Lapras as a dream encounter? That’s top-tier taste! And the love for Sitting Cuties is so relatable — they’re the perfect blend of adorable and collectible. It’s little answers like these that give fans a real glimpse into what makes her tick as a Pokémon lover."
